This book provides practical and authentic insights to Believers! It reminds Christians of our frailties and trials; but of triumphs in activating the power given by spiritual authority. The reflection of the definition of authority will let you stop to visualize the victory Christians possess. This book has the ability to change your life. It’s not that it is so well written or so inspiring. No, it is a simple book that expresses a simple truth: you have power and authority. If you are a Christian, Jesus has empowered you with spiritual authority. The problem is that most Christians either do not understand the power they have been given, or they do not know how to use it. As a result, Christians are still living as slaves to sin and Satan. But it does not have to be that way. This book will introduce you to the power that you have, and it will instruct you on how to use that power in a Biblical manner. It uses logic and experience – but more than anything, it is full of God’s word. As you read this book, allow God’s Spirit to speak to you through His word, for that is the only way that you will discover the life-changing power God wants you to know.

Family Secrets

FAMILY SECRETS

image15

When an aging mother dies of cancer, her two daughters struggle to put together the pieces of their lives and start anew. But in FAMILY SECRETS, things are not always as they should be: beautiful Ellen marries a good-for-nothing drifter; the shy, quiet Elizabeth finds true love in the strangest place; and no one notices the innocent girl caught in the middle of everything, who has been raped and assaulted by her stepfather since her twelfth birthday. Ellen and Elizabeth never saw eye to eye, but when their mother Rose dies the relationship becomes even more hostile. As Elizabeth slowly finds true love and happiness, Ellen’s life begins to unravel. Ellen’s husband, Jack, can’t keep a job; her part-time position at the hospital can’t support their growing family; and her oldest daughter, Hannah, is no longer the respectful and innocent child she once was. What no one knows is that on Hannah’s twelfth birthday, Jack began to molest and rape his stepdaughter. While Ellen takes on double night shifts and Aunt Elizabeth tries to understand why her niece has become so withdrawn, Hannah silently suffers the late-night visits and heavy hand of her stepfather. How will Ellen react when her ‘problem teen’ is caught shoplifting, brings boys back to the apartment, and gets expelled from school? Everything changes when, after four years, Hannah discovers that she’s pregnant and the secret comes out. When her mother stops speaking to her and the family falls apart once again, only one question remains to be answered: Is the baby Jack’s?

Keys To Unlocking Gods Promises

Keys To Unlocking Gods Promises

One of the great dangers of studying the bible is the possibility of taking items out of context. When this happens, scriptures are interpreted based on how it is understood at the moment, instead of understanding each text in it proper context. Well-intentioned believers run the risk of interpreting each Scripture as stand-alone, instead of comparing Scripture to Scripture. To discover the whole truth of God’s word, the Bible student must look at the Word in its entirety. While it is possible for believers to receive teaching or encouragement from individual verses of Scripture, it is critical to be sure that what is taken away from each individual verse is in line with the whole of God’s word.

The book of 2 chronicles is often overlooked. On the surface, it is not as exciting or as insightful as other books, so readers typically skim over it or ignore it altogether. On the other hand, 2 Chronicles 7:14 is one of the most often-quoted verses in Scripture:

… If My people who are called by people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

In the middle of this largely ignored book we find golden text. Most Bible students know this one verse, but have little knowledge of its context – how this verse fits into the whole book of 2 Chronicles or the entire story of the Bible. The verse begins with lowercase letter because verse 14 starts in the middle of a sentence – the middle of a thought. In Keys to Unlocking Gods Promises, Dr. Hood focuses in depth on 2 Chronicles 7:14 and what God is really saying in that verse through an understanding of the larger context.
